The Pass Plus scheme started in February 1995, and since then over 1000 successful applicants per month have enjoyed the benefits of advanced driver training, as well as insurance discounts.
You’ve just passed your driving test. Now you’re ready for Pass Plus, the practical training course that takes at least 6 hours that will help improve your skills as a safer driver and get a discount on your insurance.
You can take Pass Plus at any time but it is helpful to take it within your first year of passing the practical driving test.
When you get your full driving licence, you can book a course of 6 specially designed driving lessons that cover driving:
• In town
• Out of town
• Rural roads
• In all weathers
• At night
• On dual carriageways
• On motorways
There is no further driving test to take. When you’re driving instructor feels that you have learnt everything, you receive a certificate from the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). This certificate should earn you a substantial discount on your insurance premium from one of the companies in the Pass Plus scheme.
As a new driver, you are more vulnerable to have an accident in the first two years than any other time in your motoring career. Lack of experience means that you can be as much as TWO SECONDS slower than a motorist who has been driving for a number of years. New drivers hold only 10% of licences, but they are involved in 25% of road accidents in which someone is killed.
Pass Plus gives you valuable extra driving experience and helps become a more skilful driver that would otherwise take a long time to acquire. You should be a safer driver.
Any driving instructor on the DSA approved register can enrol to teach Pass Plus. All our driving instructors are registered to take Pass Plus. For more information or if you are interested in taking the Pass Plus course, please get in contact with us now!
